Teddy Bear

Teddy would start barking whenever he saw me come home late at night
Waking everyone up
He was glad to see me
He was always barking when he came in from the backyard
He was glad to be with me
He would jump up on the couch and fall asleep next to me
or curl up next to my feet
Those spaces are empty now
but I miss hearing his barking
most of all
