Rex,
To my first love, my truest friend, my greatest gift.
I will forever be grateful that you chose me… that the Lord saw fit to bring you into my life and trust me with your heart. You weren’t just a dog — you were the embodiment of loyalty, comfort, and unconditional love. The kind of love that changes a person, shapes a soul, and leaves a permanent mark—soft but unshakable.
There is so much I wish I could say. So many lessons you taught me without ever speaking. So many times you saved me without knowing. So many moments I’ll carry quietly in my heart, like treasures only we knew existed.
I wish words were enough — to explain the bond, the gratitude, the ache, the honor of loving you. But this love runs deeper than language. Deeper than time. Even deeper than loss.
Thank you for your patience, your protection, your quiet understanding, and the joy you carried so effortlessly. Thank you for the years, the trust, the companionship, and the gentle weight of your head resting against me when life felt too heavy to hold alone.
If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.
If gratitude could build a bridge, I would walk to you now.
If Heaven allows visitors, I hope you feel me there in every ray of sun.
I will miss you with a love that has no end.
I will remember you in a language only the heart understands.
And I will carry you forward — always grateful, always changed, always yours.
Goodbye, my sweet boy.
Rest in God’s arms — whole, peaceful, and running free again.
Until the Lord lets our souls meet once more,
I love you forever, Rex.
