In Memory of Max

Max was our gentle soul with cautious eyes who looked at us with an expression that seemed to ask for permission—permission to take space, to have love, to merely be. From his quiet beginning at the shelter, head down and reserved, he became our family’s goodest boy who taught us the sweetest hearts often come shrouded in gloom.

He meant everything to us. Max showed our children what unconditional love looked like, gentle with every person and dog he met. He never asked for much—just to be near us, to sleep on our beds, to be part of the pack he’d finally found.

We miss his warm presence, the way he’d follow us from room to room just to be close. We miss that look in his eyes that changed from asking permission to complete trust. Max was loved beyond measure, and he always will be.
